Holidays

Can you believe it, my last post was about Summer finally arriving?! Well, I can now confirm it has pretty much said it's good-byes.... to the residents of NE Scotland anyway! Short lived as always, we've flaming snow forecast for September, I kid you not! My tan is fading faster than a Big Brother evictee, how depressing!

It has been a VERY busy few months indeed, freelance jobs have been coming in thick and fast, hence my extended absence from Blogland. But I am happy to report it wasn't all work, work, work..... amongst all the craziness we did manage to get away for a few weeks. Armed with a tent, map and gig tickets, we jumped in the car and set off round Britain, stopping in past Cumbria, Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Sussex, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Yorkshire. Ok yes, I did pack slightly more..... well, a LOT more! But where exactly does it state camping in the Great Outdoors ultimately means slumming it?

For two nights of our trip we decided to leave our modest 5-man in the car in favour of 'Glamping' in a Bell tent at the oh so cool Jollydays, Buttercrambe! En-route to Scotland, I found an amazing last minute deal on Facebook.... then 24hrs later, were firing up the stove in a wonderful Yorkshire woodland! The whole site was a shabby-chic dream!! While my husband was suitably impressed, I myself, being the Cath Kidston obsessive, was beside myself with excitement. With a big pan of Chilli simmering away, a few glasses of vino on the decking, we were in heaven!

More holiday snaps to come..... I've literally thousands still to edit! But don't worry, I won't bore you with them all! And I promise not to leave it so long next time! :) x

We are considering giving up our tourer caravan next year ... we've had some great holidays over four years but just want to try some different things ... 'Glamping' is now on my wish list!
